“ Anthony's is the place to go when looking for fresh cookies reminiscent of home baking. For $2.50, I got a classic chocolate chip cookie. The cookie had a nice deep brown color, with crispy edges, a soft inside, and semi-sweet chocolate. I got there an hour after the bakery opened and they had already sold out of some of their most popular cookies. Go right when it opens for a larger variety of options! ”
“ There are so many things to love about soft, warm, thick, cookies, especially on a rainy day, I find them extra comforting and reminiscent of my childhood. I happened to be in the neighborhood and it's been forever since I've had some Anthony's Cookies, so I had to stop in. By mid day, there are some flavors that were out (German Chocolate being one of the sold out flavors that I love) but they still had most left. Must tries are for sure the Chocolate Chip Walnut and the Peanut Butter. I also got the Chocolate covered Shortbread to try and it was covered completely in chocolate. Don't get me wrong I LOVE chocolate, but I also appreciate a good shortbread and the chocolate on this one was too much for me. Service was super friendly and quick! I only wish there was a cute table to sit in the window and enjoy a cookie and coffee. ”
“ For years, Anthony's cookies had been on my list of spots to try but just never got around to trying them. This is probably because I'm a cookie baker myself and don't really feel the need to buy them unless someone buys them for me. This was the case here as I was gifted with a box and finally got the opportunity to taste what all the hype was about. Lucky me, these cookies didn't disappoint. What really impressed me about these cookies was that they had that perfect chewy soft texture. The cookies themselves weren't that big-- they probably could fit in the palm of your hand. Taste wise, they have my approval. Here's a breakdown: Cookies and Cream: Out of all of them, this was probably my least favorite. Let me explain. I bake up my own cookies and cream cookie and I like mine better. This one was a tad *too* sweet for my own liking and while everything else was on point (texture, bits of oreos), it just comes down to preference. I prefer mine. Can't hate on that. Classic Chocolate Chip: Again, they have perfected that texture and this is Chocolate Chip done right. I could probably keep snacking on these, so keep them away because I would need to be cut off. Chocolate dipped shortbread: This one surprised me the most because when I looked at this hunk of chocolate, I assumed it would be way too sweet. It was not. The shortbread inside wasn't too sugary, and the chocolate on the outside wasn't that sweet either. Good balance and felt like a treat. I hear they're going to tackle the Ice cream game next. Looking forward to trying soon when they do. ”
“ Perfection! Cookies are smaller but accordingly less expensive. Excellent if you want to try several kinds. My favorite is the gluten free choc covered shortbread, which was a surprise given I only got it because they were out of everything else. Now it is my go to. The cookie is especially short because it lacks gluten so it crumbles in your mouth! The gluten containing shortbread is still good, but just not the same. Come on the earlier side because they run out of their most popular kinds ”
“ Food (1 of 2 stars): Ordered 1 Chocolate Chip and 1 Cookies & Cream cookie. There are lots of flavors though and others I'd be willing to try. The cookies were a bit smaller than I expected but they were overall pretty good! The Chocolate Chip was good as is, but would be even better if I was able to heat it up. The Cookies & Cream didn't have as strong of a flavor as other Cookies & Cream cookies I've had before. Service (2 of 2 stars): Workers were really welcoming and friendly! Ambiance (1 of 1 star): Really open space that smells really good with the scent of fresh baked cookies! ”
“ Pretty decent although I found the cookies a bit plain and not very flavorful for the size and price. The chocolate chip was fresh but didn't seem anything special. Same goes for the cookies and cream. They're definitely great though for a small treat. ”
“ These are HANDS DOWN the BEST cookies in the City! Also nothing like walking down Mission on a nice day to get some cookies! Ambience is awesome! The quality of the cookie is where its at! I highly recommend the cookies and cream and toffee flavor! I haven't ventured away from those because I just really like those 2. I cannot emphasize enough that this is a MUST GO TO SPOT if you're ever in San Francisco! The cookie is a nice hand-size, where its thin enough to have a nice chew. And the edges are just thicker than the center to where it provides a mountain of a crisp not too crunchy edge. The cost may be a bit pricey for the cookie but I cannot emphasize enough that it is WELL WORTH IT. Coming from a frugal person like me, every time I bring this for holidays for fam that's not in the City; its a hit!! Something to keep in mind is that they run out of flavors quick because I think they get a lot of company catering orders so if you go late in the business hours - its at your own risk. ”
“ Got the cookies and cream cookie and I thought it was a okay. That had a decent selection of cookies, but I didn't think it was that unique. Very solid choice if you're craving cookies though. ”
“ Finally got around to trying this place after living in the area for several years. TL;DR--it's good! I wouldn't advise making a special trip, but if you are nearby, definitely check them out! I tried a few of their bread & butter (no pun intended) staples, toffee, cookies & cream, and classic chocolate chip. Of those, the classic chocolate chip was probably my favorite. The quality of the chips was fantastic, and definitely elevates it above your ordinary cookie. I do feel that $2.50 for a single cookie is steep, given the size (about the diameter of a Coke can, and the thickness of a small notebook), but that is ultimately a preference. Everything is expensive right now, so it's hard to say where this falls on the spectrum of "acceptable." The cookies are crispy, and have a bite to them (not soft). Personally, I like this texture, but it's not for everyone, so if that's not your thing, then you may want to skip this place. I also tried two of their "specials"--the chocolate covered peanut butter cookie, and the chocolate covered shortbread. Both of these were highlights (the latter probably being my overall favorite), again for the super-high quality of the chocolate, as well as the generous coatings. They do not skimp on chocolate. However, those were also pricey at $3.75 and $5.75, respectively. When I'm back in the area, I may come in just for the shortbread alone--it's that good! Fair warning: both of these have a bit of an "oily" texture and so they are slippery and melt fast. I suspect this is due the fresh ingredients & baking (especially with the peanut butter). I did not like they that charge you $0.75 for a box to store the cookies. The prices are already high enough, and especially if you are buying more than one, the box should be included. Hopefully they change that policy in the future. ”
